Steak con camarones and the pescado frito with fresh corn tortillas were served hot! It was a nice surprise to have red snapper. The regular size was plenty for an adult meal. Surprisingly delicious. Steak was thoroughly done and well-seasoned. Based on reviews, we had reasonable expectations, so it was nice to have an above average experience. Place was clean. Booths were comfy. Parking ample, Note: Halloween was just last week so it seemed very premature to have Christmas holiday music as the ambient sound. Service was prompt and efficient. We needed some extra attention to ensure a menu substitution was possible - no worries. Enjoy!
Delicious food, very fresh ingredients. Our table especially loved the excellent salmon, fajitas, pupusas, guac, house-made tortillas, and the amazing chocolate cheesecake. We had plenty of leftovers of everything except the cheesecake, so we bought more cheesecake to take home. The staff and new owner were extraordinarily kind, helpful, patient, and attentive to our table with a lot of special needs. Truly gracious. I would give them 10 stars. The atmosphere is attractive, comfortable, and welcoming. Quiet enough for easy conversation. I like the new wooden booths with higher backs than the past ones. I love the vibrant artwork. Plenty of convenient parking, including handicapped spaces. This was a special birthday lunch, and Acajutla made it a really great experience for all of us.
I'll give a 4* to , this restaurant is under new management/owner and they have really improved from costumer Svc to the food , food is more delicious portions are good, very clean nice environment, they did renovación the restaurant looks great and I really recommend this place , last owner was very careless, and always change the food portions and it was very expensive and food was not tasty but with the new owner everything looks and taste grate, yesterday they change the salsa for the chips. It was only the tomato juice with the grained peppers, no tomatoes onions or cilantro I had to ask for it besides that food was good. please go try it
I was in the mood for something sweet, so I decided to try the tres leches. It was really good, but I felt the whipped cream wasn't necessary. It was quite sweet, but it definitely satisfied my craving!
Patricia H. Gaithersburg, Maryland. My husband and I stopped by to check out this restaurant for the first time. I have been wanting to try Sopa the Res, my favorite soup. I ordered the soup and the soup they make is delicious, it's perfect, not watery soup. Very tasty with lots of vegetables and the meat is just perfect. The customer service was excellent, Denisse was our server, she was lovely and so friendly and very helpful. We appreciated the positive and welcoming attitude. She suggested a couple of appetizers to try, we tried the tamale de pollo. Wow, delicious. I highly recommend Acajutla. (5 stars). This place is very clean, and the quality of food and service is excellent. They are reasonably priced. I recommend going to check it out and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed. We ended up ordering and taking home delicious chicken tacos. Thank you, Denisse, for making us feel at home.
Really love this place! The food was great! Denise was lovely and so friendly. Will come back soon!
My husband and I stopped by on a whim for lunch. It's a cute space with plenty of seating. Service was kind and timely. Parking is ample in the strip center. The chips were nice and warm, and the salsa tasted fresh. I ordered the vegetarian burrito, and it was filled with steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. ...not exactly the grilled veggies that were included in the dish description. That would have been 3 starts, but I'm going with four because the rice and beans are vegetarian. That's much appreciated! We decided we'd go back in a pinch, but it's not an overwhelming local fave.
We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. They have El Salvadoran and TexMex food. Meals come with chips and salsa. Their pupusas are pretty good. This trip we got the shrimp chimichanga, pollo guanaco (so juicy), extra flour tortillas (nice and warm), extra frijoles, 2 sodas and 2 pupusas. Their prices haven't gone up too much, so every thing was pretty reasonable and we had a lot of left overs. The inside is really cute and the service is pretty good. There were only 2 waitresses and the place was pretty full, but they were able to get to all the tables and didn't have any issues. They do have high chairs and I didn't check to see if they have changing tables.
Moved away from the area over 8 years ago and before we left this was one of our go to places. Always good service, great food and reasonably priced. Well 8 years later we are back in the area and we decided to get some takeout and I have to say things are as they ever were. The food is delicious, the portions are well sized and the pricing is fair. Nothing is "cheap" anymore, but you get a lot of bang for your buck when eating here. Takeout was ready in the timeframe given and it was hot when we got home to eat.
Acajutla hits all the right spots. Their steak fajitas were so good: the steak was cooked perfectly and they give you a nice amount of every side piece to make three fajitas. My family got one order of fajitas, 3 empanada combos, and 2 appetizers all for around $60! Uncle Julio's could never! This place is definitely worth trying out!
